be it an ethnic group, a region ...?. In some cases, these books are very well known; but often, they are a bit obscure for the non-specialist.
Nearly always they are out of print, though. So, if you want to find and buy that book, we have inserted an hyperlink to the
Abebook website. As far as I know, this is by far the most comprehensive
source for finding old or rare books.
For the time being, this page covers only Africa. I have a separate page for Amazonian art.
There is a voluntary bias towards the more recent and more easily available titles. We have not included books on prehistory, classical
antiquity, islamic, colonial or airport art. Contemporary art will have its own separate section.
